Master Degree in Biomedical Engineering

The Master’s Degree in Biomedical Engineering has been activated in the Academic Year 2015-2016 and is held in English by Italian professors as well as by professors from foreign Institutions highly-active with regard to research and of didactics. In this way, students will learn advanced topics of biomedical engineering in an international atmosphere. The Master’s Degree in Biomedical Engineering starts from the basic knowledge acquired by students during the 3-year Bachelor’s Degree in Biomedical Engineering and deepens and integrates such knowledge with advanced and specialized knowledge in both traditional and innovative biomedical sectors. The goal is to form a multivariate professional figure able to act properly in companies, in clinical/healthcare facilities and in research contexts. Specifically, the course focuses on the bioengineering of the motor system, of the cardiovascular system, of the nervous system and of the metabolic system, and deals with issues related to biomedical signal and image processing, biomechanics, modeling of biological systems, robotics, bioinformatics, and biomedical measures. Eventually, the student can also choose to study bio-technologies, biomaterials, biofluidodynamics, electrical and electromagnetic safety of biomedical devices, ICT for healthcare, medical statistics, automatic controls applied to bioengineering and biometric data security.

Starting from 2019-2020, the Master’s Degree in Biomedical Engineering also provides a Double Degree agreement with the Catholic University of America of Washington.
